Bands > Daphne Loves Derby > Biography

Formed in 2001, Daphne Loves Derby have come a long way. Out of Kent, Washington, the quartet have released 3 full length albums and 5 EPs. Their first EP, A Sudden Change, was released in 2001, followed by another EP entitled The Wonder Years in 2003. The band really got their start after achieving and maintaining a number one spot on PureVolume's "Unsigned Artists" page and releasing their self-titled album exclusively to PureVolume in 2003. They then released 2 EPs in 2004, Post Post and Closing Down the Pattern Department.

After signing to Outlook Music in 2005, the band released their second full-length album, On the Strength of All Convinced on July 26, 2005. In 2006, the band released yet another EP entitled Acoustic. Shortly after, they put out their thrid full-length album, Good Night, Witness Light. The title was partially taken from a poem by Robert Frost.

Since then, they have toured quite a bit and have appeared on Punk Goes Acoustic 2, which is an album full of "punk" bands' acoustic versions of songs. They're currently searching for a label as their contract with Outlook expired after two albums. They are also writing for their next album and gearing up for a tour with Cinematic Sunrise (Craig Owens of Chiodos' side project).
