As promised, we're keeping you updated on Casey Calvert's death. This is a note from Eron Bucciarelli and we feel that he said it best and it's only right to post what he had to say:

"From the time of the incident we suspected a possible drug interaction as the cause. Casey wrestled with depression for as long as we knew him. He saw numerous doctors and took an ever-changing array of medicines to get better. He finally had his depression under control. According to the toxicology report, the cause of death was due to a fatal interaction between depression meds, anxiety meds and an opiate. Opiates being mentioned along with the term "substance abuse", coupled with "rockstar" stereotypes immediately conjure up images of hard drug use and addiction, which simply couldn't be further from the truth in Casey's instance. What the toxicology report doesn't show is that prior to us leaving for tour, Casey had a root canal, and was prescribed Vicodin (an opiate) for the pain. Once again, Casey was not involved in anything illegal nor was he a substance abuser. Please be respectful as we search for more answers to these newly raised questions and deal with this news.

I apologize for the lack of updates lately! December, of course, brings holidays, vacations, and lots of other things that keep people busy for the entire month. A lot of things have recently been added, so go check the sidebar to see what you've missed. If you keep up with Highlights, I'm sure you're wondering where the December 11th edition is, and, well, to be honest, half of it is sitting on my computer. I was too busy to post it this week and won't have time to post any new editions of Highlights until after the break, so you'll see a slightly backdated issue on January 8th, when regular posting resumes again. In addition to Highlights, you can look forward to a brand new photoset featuring My Chemical Romance at their first show in Hawai'i! I wish all of you a very happy Christmahannukwanzaakah and a happy new year. Have a safe and fun holiday season and Bandictionary will be bursting with updates when everything settles down. :)

Sometimes things that happen just don't make sense. While I know many people may not be fans of Hawthorne Heights, it is undeniable that they are some of the most respectable guys in the music business and don't deserve all the misfortunes that befall them. I regret to inform you that on November 23rd, Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep. His cause of death is unknown as of now, but please, until it is confirmed, do not fuel gossip surrounding his passing. I ask you all to keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers, as this is a real tragedy. We will keep you updated as more news surfaces surrounding his untimely death. Rest in peace, Casey. You will surely be missed.

A few cosmetic changes to the site have recently been made. You'll notice a shiny new footer at the bottom which contains a few helpful links for easy access. In addition to affiliates in the sidebar, I've also added a 'recently added' section that shows the three most recent features added to the site - Highlights issues, interviews, biographies, or photos. That way you can easily catch up on whatever you might have missed since your last visit. Most importantly, we have just opened our new forums! Be sure to visit, join, and tell all your friends!

The first issue of Bandictionary Highlights was posted today, so be sure to go check that out! It can be found under the "home" tab up above or on our MySpace blog. Bandictionary Highlights has taken the place of Tony's News since Tony left us a few weeks ago. Also posted today was the interview with Bryan Donahue - finally! It was a really short interview but Bryan gave some really great answers, so be sure to go check that out, as well.

As you may have noticed, the site hasn't been updated in quite a while. We had a few technical difficulties during the last month, but everything is fixed now and the site is coming back together! We have a lot of new biographies up (including The Spill Canvas, Killswitch Engage, and The Almost), so go check them out. Also, starting next week, the site will have a brand new section for weekly news that will be updated every Tuesday. These updates will feature articles about recently released albums, a band of the week, and more. And last, but not least, if you have never been to the photography section on our site, go check it out! There are lots of great photos there for your viewing pleasure, and more are always being added. That's all for today!

Lots has happened since last month! Most importantly, as you've probably already noticed, we have a brand new look! Please welcome our new crew members, Brit, Taylor, and Vix! We also have a couple new bands (check out I Hate Kate and New Years Day!), some new biographies and interviews, and more photo sets in the photography section. Go take a look! Our first contest should start soon, too. :)

Recently, I uploaded the biographies for The Academy Is... and Thursday. The photography page for The Academy Is... is also back up. Expect to see a biography for The Used, interviews with Ashley of New Years Day and Bryan of Boys Like Girls, and photos of Boys Like Girls, Killswitch Engage, Coheed & Cambria, and Paramore. Biographies for the bands just mentioned will hopefully be up by the end of the month. And finally, if you're interested in being a writer, editor/proofreader, webmaster, or if you'd like to help with publicity for the site, please e-mail us and let us know. Please welcome the newest (official) member of the Bandictionary Crew, Alyse! Last week, I interviewed Drama from the Switchblade Kittens. The interview and their biography was put up today. I rearranged most of the pages, so the links will look a little different, but that's nothing too important. The Academy Is...'s photography page has been taken down, but I hope to get it back up by Friday.

I made a few minor changes yesterday, nothing too important. I'm going to try and get a few more interviews up this week, if I can find the time. I'm doing my best to get everything running! Also, if e-mailing your questions or suggestions gets dull, bandictionary can now be found on AIM and MSN! Add bandictionary@hotmail.com for MSN and bandictionary for AIM. That's about it for today. The pages I mentioned in the last update are still under construction, and I apologize for that. While I hope to get them up by the end of the month, I can't make any promises. I've been extremely busy with schoolwork and other projects. I could really use some extra help to get things going faster. If you have some spare time to write biographies or if you have some HTML/Photoshop skills you could put to work, please e-mail us! Feel free to send in any suggestions you have, as well.

Since the re-opening, tons of things have been added. There are still five band pages under construction. All of those pages, with the exception of Kandace Ferrel and The Dresden Dolls, should be up within the next few days. Once those are finished, I hope to get the crew page up. The newest additions are the items on The Academy Is...'s page, so go check those out! Everything should be finished soon, however, contests will be held off for a month or two.
