About Bandictionary
Bandictionary [ban-dik-shun-air-ee] (n): a creative resource for learning about your favorite bands and discovering a few new ones while you're at it.
Bandictionary is, as the name states, a band dictionary. If you need to look up a word, you go to the dictionary. If you need to look up a band, you go to Bandictionary! Instead of normal, boring, almost encyclopedic entries, however, we simply provide you with exclusive photos and interviews for your favorite bands. Though we're still small, we're constantly growing, with new material added all the time! We have big plans for the future, so expect to see lots of cool things from us. And if you like what you see here, be sure to tell your friends. Spread our name around like the most contagious virus on Earth!
How we started:
In late April of 2006, Emilee, Bandictionary's creator, came up with the idea for a website that had all sorts of information available for many bands. She held a contest to name it soon after, and in mid-May, "Megan Massacre" from MySpace won with the name Bandictionary. Bandictionary was officially launched on June 4th with five band pages and one page for the "band of the month." The site was small and cute, but was quickly taken down for a server change once it was realized that more space was needed. Bandictionary was on hiatus, and after many technical issues, it was back online in January of 2007. The site has since then gained an amazing crew, awesome readers, and has transformed into the website you see today.
